aNobii è una droga e dato che l'estate avanza, io sono alla ricerca del libro bello e struggente da portare in Salento e spero che aNobii mi aiuti a trovarlo.Se passando di qui, voleste darmi voi un consiglio, sappiate che sto cercando un libro che possa competere stilisticamente ed emotivamente con "Anime alla deriva" di Mason e "Il Mago" di John Fowles.

Lately I've been very distracted by a little addictive website, aNobii, an online readers community that I'm using to find the perfect book for my summer vacations. I'm looking for a book that can compete with Richard Mason's "The Drowning People" and John Fowles "The Magus". Any suggestions?

Hmmm, suggestions for good books to read, eh? I would recommend Epoch, a comedy about the end of the world by a well-respected Canadian author. It's for a Young Adult audience, so if you want something a little more grown up, check out that same author's Section K. Very funny stuff. Absolutely brilliant! One of the best authors out there, I would say.

I will also second what Ptata said - get thee some Terry Pratchett! Very good stuff. And Section K has some great tortured love in it. Well, sort of. A love that can never be, which you'll understand when you read it.
I'm afraid I'm not much into the romance genre, so I can't make any better suggestions. But I will certainly recommend Terry Pratchett, and of course my own stuff.
